Hey guys, I got this iron cast realnissan exhaust manifold and have a few questions.

First off, what are the screw holes circled in green for? are they useless? The bottom 2 green circled areas point sideways (i guess down from orientation of picture). I don't really see what I will be bolting on to this.

Secondly, Is the bolted/screwed area circled in blue for an external wastegate?

I will be connecting a t3/t4 hybrid to this that has an internal wastegate. However, if I can easily put an external one on, I'd opt for that.

Thanks for the help!

the area circled in blue is for the egt probe.

i don't know what the hell the three green circled holes are for. i'm guessing this is a new version of their manifold because i don't remember it looking like that.

give them a call. they're good people. they'll be more than happy to answer your questions.

Thank you, That clears up my main concern. I thought RealNissan is "no longer" existent as I've heard from another member. The website http://www.realnissan.com now goes to another website. Is it the same people?

90% of the information, products, and pics on that site are from the old realnissan.com site. who did you deal with when you bought your manifold?

i would say it's safe to assume that they're the same company.

The top green hole is the egt, the left blue hole is EGR recirculation (emission), the other 2 green holes im assuming are for bolting on a heat shield of some kind.

demcj: I got it second hand off another member on this site.

s13chuckat: so I can still plug in the egr valve? hoo hoo (hopefully) - I know it doesn't do anything, but I'd rather have the main CA emissions stuff in my car, not that I'm expecting anyone to pull me over.

Well that helps clear it up...lol. Not a bad looking mani. The two unidentified holes are almost definitly for a heat shield.

NOW they want to make a bottom mount. i pestered them about it when i had my ka24e a few years ago. they were willing to make a custom one for me, but i ended up getting rid of my car. oh well, it's all good.

Lol.. Id prefer a top mount over bottom mount.. it looks cooler, and you can make it closer to a hoodscoop to cool the turbo down.

top mount is fine for the DE, but with the E, all the plugs and wires are very close to the turbo. you can wrap them or reroute everything, but changing them would still be somewhat of a pain. a bottom mount just makes things so much easier.

At nizzx.com (realnissan.com) the SOHC manifold pictured on the 240sx has the turbo mounted on top.

The more i look at it, the more i think it is topmount. but i dont understand why they would put the egr on the otherside... it SHOULD have the egr on the other side of the manifold if it were ment for a 240sx... or hell, even a stanza/truck/any other KA powered ride.....

I actually asked the guy I bought it from (Trppen... something) and he told me it's top mount. I'm gonna try to mount it bottom wise tho :), that way I get some egr action going, well, that all depends on which side fits.

run the egr into the downpipe.
