ok, so as u guys know i just replaced my timing chain/gears/guides and all that. When i put the motor back in the car, i hooked everything up, and i hooked up the negative terminal, then when i touched the positive terminal to the battery..the starter engaged, with or without the key in the ignition. So basically, everytime i touch the positive terminal to the battery, the car turns over. i cannot figure it out, just so u know im working on a 92 240 hatch, KA24DE all factory, just an AEM intake under the hood. any help would be appreciated, i cant figure it out, its confusing the hell outta me. thanks again

You have wired your starter wrong. There is one wire that is continuous 12v+ that goes to starter and one wire from ignition switch that(also goes to starter) only provides 12v+ when key is turned to start. The black yellow wire is the wire that comes from ignition switch. the black-red is continuous 12v+ directly from battery.

UPDATE!: i got everyting situated with the 240 tonight, started her up and the timing chain made a hell of a lot of noise, revved her to 2500 and sat there for about 2 seconds then lifted off the gas, and it was quiet, i guess the hydrolic tensioners needed to fill with oil! so there ya go, for hte first time in 4 weeks the 240 went around the block under her own power, i forgot how much i missed that thing! the motor is so damn quiet now i love it! but yea, anyone trying to do the KA24DE timing chain replacement...**** it..go buy an SR or RB..its a ***** lol...thanks for all ur help guys!
