That concept linked in the article was ugly as sin anyways. And what do you expect? Nissan is definatly about to pull a GM with this economy.

Very disappointing, but not surprising. It would have been nice to go buy a brand new Silvia like car here in the US instead of converting our 20+ year old cars.

It does look promising, time will tell. As for the 240sx and Nissan's shift of focus, I can't blame them but I just didn't want to hear it even though it was coming.

It's okay. Not being the biggest fan of the 350Z and 370Z's styling, any S16 would've probably been ugly anyways. Unless they come out with something like the S15, my $25k will be going towards a used C6 anyways.

Yeah, who gives a fcuk about nissan canceling their 240sx successor plans.

The only people who give a damn about that car are poor broke kids.

So even if it made it, it wouldn't matter.

If you want a new car that is nissan and rwd that you can mod, buy a 350/370z.

Agreed. They've even announced a lightened, less frills R-Spec version of the 2.0T. It's also priced around $24,000.

Who would've expected anyone to desire a Hyundai?

I dont really desire a Hyundai, but I definitely wouldnt mind having a Genesis. Rhys Millen has been promoting it soo much.

idk hyundia isnt known for reliability... i dont think id buy one simply for that

and why are people so set on a new "silvia"

part of what draws me to the 240sx is the fact it is no more, and probably shouldnt be produced again. Then again, i dont think id buy anything obo II anytime soon

meh.. its whatever..nissan and toyota should just let there pride cars RIP.. silvia is done, and should be left alone, and the ae86 is done. making the new cars would have brought the name down for our "ahead of their time" vehicles..

Well hyundai's have gotten a bad rap from its past but that was mostly due to getting parts from mitsubishi. There cars really have improved and have got awards on it..

yeah, from what i hear, the genisis is quite the car.. hyundai said that they wanted a car to be part of the drifting scene, so thats when they designed this new car..

I've never given hyundai respect, but if they start selling boosted rwd's for 24,000 then my hat's off to them

as for the s16, that thing was ugly...even if I could afford it I would just get a used s14 and do a ground up resto with a built rb25, etc..etc..baller wheels..yada yada

For the most part, the, "Drift Scene" is mainly built of people too poor/cheap to afford a new car.

So Hyundai decided to market a car towards those people?

Let me get this straight... So instead of beating up old cars, they expect people to beat up new cars?

hah.

Fail logic. Whoever thought of that should be shot.

yeah.. the guy who designed it said that on HIN.. he said he wanted this car to get into the drift scene.. this was around the same time when nissan said they were gonna make a prelude to the 240sx, and short after that, toyota said they were bringing back another version of the ae86..

as for that picture of that car, you have to understand, its a "concept".. the real thing probably would have looked nothing like that..

toyota was gonna come out with the supra again also..most likely a car that really has nothing to do with the previous generation of the supras just to compete with the new GT-R

It must be a lot of money to make car RWD...but I don't understand how Ford can sell a v6 base model mustand for under 20K

It's more so, how much profit would they make if they sold it.

The mustang sells because of the history behind it.

Japanese cars are supposed to be for comfort/economy.

A majority of the market doesn't want a rwd car.

They want a car that can get groceries and drive them from point a to point b.

For the amount of money it would cost to design a car and build it, they would have to have X amount of sales.

With the way things are now-a-days why would anyone make a car that has a pretty low chance of selling?

Even the camaro had to be pulled from the line.

that is true, i'd say 98% of people that buy new corollas don't really care whether the drive wheels are on the front or the rear.

Just a prediction, I think that new hyundai genesis is gonna be pretty expensive (at least 30K?) and might not sell since it's still a HYUNDAI and people aren't prepared to drop a lot of dough on a hyundai instead of say a 370z
