O.K. heres a plan that i think may work but maybe not...? I have a kit parted and the schematics worked out but being a TOTAL beginner and always asking stupid ?s that make people real mad i dont know if it would work. So here it is. I parted out a kit of basics that i think would be fine together but the hard part is the intercooler. Im thinking of using a side mount 300zx intercooler and putting it in the place where the air box used to be.(im aware i may have to do some minor cutting and fitting). Drilling a couple holes below the head lights (that will be sealable with plasic covers in the rain) for air flow. Then using the aftermarket "cold air intake" already installed on thje car to rig it the rest of the way. If it sounds dumb and im missin anything please let me know. This is a low boost mod...THANX PEOPLE.

Dont listen to these guys, useless.

Im not sure how big the sidemount IC is for the 300zx, but the place your talking about putting it is the normal spot for a sidemount. Right underneath the flat spot in front of the wheel well right? Thats where it needs to go.

I guess you have a 300zx sidemount already? IMO, i would sell it and get a sr20det sidemount. Well before you do, research it and figure out the size difference between the two. The SR ones are cheap, and fit correctly with little modification. If you already have a 300zx unit, just go outside and try to figure out if it will fit under your wheel well.

Your idea about using the cold air intake MIGHT work if its a aluminum tube type of one. You would need to buy a generic intercooler piping kit from ebay or something, along with some silicone and clamps to make that work. You wont need to drill any holes under the headlights, the fender area receives plenty of air.

Btw, are you running an SR, Ka-T, how you boostin man! Good luck with your project, and dont let flack from these kids bother you.

In response to previous comments...WHY? because i dont want to have to mod my front end...i agree it may not fit (thats why im askin!). No i dont have a 300zx side mount intercooler. I cant find an sr on ebay. Not for the last 4 weeks! There is an upgraded zx IC on ebay that is buy it now and i did a little math and figured i may be able to fit it. The thing is, if it doesnt fit its a waste of alot of $$. Im boostin a rebuilt ka24e. The pipes im not worried about...if i can use the Injen intake it really wont take much work. I really appreciate any help, even negative...
