really strange problem
every once in a while when i try to start my car, and it wont turn on. there's no noise at all, just silence. however, whenever this happens i just press the brake, move the car to reverse then back to park, and it'll start up first try. any idea what this is? i've never heard of something like this happening before.

Sounds like the park/neutral position switch may be sticky. If the gear shifter is not engaging the park position sensor, the relay will not power the starter.

any links on how to fix that?
also could that have anything to do with being able to switch gears without pressing the brake when the car is off?
