I'm trying to swap in an S15 Helical LSD into my s14 pumpkin. My question is this, I'm told that the longer output shaft goes on the PASSENGER side, but I am a little bit iffy. I'll let the pictures do the explaining.

Right (passenger side):

Left (driver side):

Rear (same shims that was on the open diff, one large and one small on left side, one small on right side, mesh appears to be good):

Obviously the left(driver) side is deeper, do I still put the longer shaft on the passenger side?

Thanks!

Yall suck :DWell, I tried swapping the output shafts to put the longer side on the passenger side but that didn't work. I figure as long as it creates a seal, I'm good. The diff goes back in the car tomorrow.

the shafts will only fit in one direction, the splines inside the diff are cut differently and one side is longer than the other so just put them in so the they go all the way in and cover the seals.
