Hey guys, I really am posting this out of complete frustration. I went into the local grocery store at about ten last night and was in there for about 30 minutes getting miscellaneous things. By obvious standards a pretty quick trip. I had a front row parking spot, with only the handicapped (empty) spot to my left empty. When I came out I spotted a shopping cart up against my car :ohno:

I go over to assess and there is a 6inch scratch followed by an absolute massive dent! Now this is the only large dent I have ever gotten and my car was extremely straight for a 18 year old car with no previous body work. It just leaves such a bad taste in my mouth because I am about to start body work on my 95 240, and it just makes me not wanna do body work at all especially when people are not going to respect the hard work and money you have put into your car (or anything else for that matter). You SHOULD respect other peoples stuff, even if its a small item like a bicycle, even if it is an absolutely hideous or rusty car, atleast respect others enough to know someone/somewhere spent time or money on that item. Rant over

And here is the damage after the parking lot massacre:

Ugh, Speckid :gotme

It's honestly not even that bad. You could probably pop it out. Also, I think you are assuming someone pushed a cart into your car. It could have just been the wind moving a stray cart around. I have seen it happen.

Its obviously not gunna be a front end collision, but its very large considering it was caused by a shopping cart

It was a person, we went and checked the cameras today :argh

Yeah, lesson learned I guess. Just figure it was 10 o' clock at night and with no one else around it wouldn't be a problem. I was wrong.

Do you honestly think the police are going to put any effort at all into finding a parking lot cart pusher when they've got real crime suspects to pursue?

Thats an easy PDR fix and I bet most of that scratch can come out. I would say 80-100 bucks... Sorry to hear.

Just keeping everybody in check. I don't expect the police to get involved at all, 100 bucks in damage really isn't their problem. Just annoying that it is 80-100 dollars more than I would have to spend, if people weren't jacka**es.

People don't appreciate you having a nice 240 around. They are jealous and have no morals. Just ignore the absent minded and move on. that's all you can really do. Sorry to hear about your dent. Should be able to pop it out. Paint might chip though.

this kind of s*** pisses me off the most. People don't have respect for other's property, and get jealous when other people have things that are nicer than they have. I think it come's down to ignorance. people don't understand or respect the value (monetary, sentimental, etc) that we put in our vehicles. I went to walmart (unfortunatly) a few months ago and parked as far away as possible, no cars within 5 spots in either direction...so in my infinite wisdom I decided to take up two spots. apparently this pissed some one off enough to put a few nice dents and scratches in my car and leave a shopping cart wedged under my rear bumper. needless to say, I was PISSED

No, i don't, but i would be nice to see a little justice for once, even if it's something as simple as a ding in a car. :wtf2:

Dang man, that sucks bad. At least it is the fender look at it that way, you can find another burgundy/maroon fender and have it be perfect again. Also you probably could tap that out a bit just make sure you use a heat gun so the paint does not chip :)

^KC224: Wow, that blows bigtime. I don't believe that was caused by a shopping cart lol. It will be fixed a long with the rebuild that now is going to take place. It went ka-blammy last night in the middle of nowhere. So now it needs a rebuild too.

^ Ditto. When going shopping to any Supermarket, Mall, etc I think I decided to do the same thing after reading this. Take the Slorolla to take the shopping cart attacks and people's stupidity. Even though I might be in the same area, I'll have to make a special trip. It's funny after reading this you parked in two spots. I guess they felt your car wasn't "special" enough like a Corvette, etc to take 2 parks. Pricks.

I didn't take up two spots. Somebody else in the thread was talking about their experience. I don't take up two spots ever. Not my style

Yeah, taking up two spots is just asking to get demolished. Either that, or around here you'll just have two huge, lifted diesel trucks with giant tires that have never touched dirt and gay a** stacks out the bed parked about 1/2" away on either side.

Come to think of it I bet its pretty much the same over in OH-OH-lathe lol

My bad I was referring to the other person. I don't take two spots either ,but today since our parking spots are small the truck on the left side had to park in two. So I parked in two so I can get out my car and others too lol. :chuckle: ;)
