noises are really hard to diagnose through the forum do to your interpetation of the noise could be different then someone elses. but i would suggest useing an engine stethascope to locate the exact source of the noise. if you dont have one a long screw driver with a plastic handle works pretty well. place the tip of the tool used against the suspected part and the other end to your ear. move around to different things and compare the intensity of the noise. like try the p/s pump then the idler pulley braket or center bolt then the water pump housing and so on till you find the loudest point . once you locate it you have most likely found the source. if its the p/s pump you may have some restrictions in the passeges inside the pump. there is a couple of p/s system flush kits out there dont know if they are offered to the general public but you could try that first and see if it helps your situation. its cheaper then replacing the pump. just keep in mind if the impellers or the bearings in the pump are the actual cause the flush wont do anything for it.
