What model do you have?

In my 03/04 M45, there is a trunk/valet switch in the glove compartment. Once I have turned it off, I can lock the glove box and that is it. Unless they break into the glove-box, you're fine.

Now, the problem is that the majority of valet's won't be able to break in but if someone breaks into your car, they will likely break into the glove box.

Unfortunately, once they are inside the car, then all bets are off on anything that is in there - including the trunk. If they break the glove box, then the switch for the trunk release is pretty obvious. If you want to completely disable it, then the wiring in the trunk can probably be cut, in which case, you would have to use the key everytime you wanted to get in.

Sorry to hear about the loss.

My grandfather has had the dealer disable the glove box trunk release on every car he's had in the past 30+ years. Should be easy for your dealer to do for you. Sorry to hear about your loss.
