Started my car yesterday in the garage....immediately shot up to 4k RPM and would not idle down - I had to shut it off a couple times. Have been having this issue intermittently between shifts too...push in the clutch at 3500rpm or so to shift and idle shoots up by another 500RPM.

My car is a 2014 base model that shouldn't have the rev match option, but it almost acts like that's what it's doing. I don't want any more 4k RPM starts. Only 22k on the odo on this car.

Ideas?

I'd start by cleaning and relearning the throttle body.

NO idea. Man is this puppy still under warranty? At 28k I had a bad csc clutch slave cylinder. I was so upset because otherwise it was a fantastic car but just was too jerky and was hard to modulate. It started acting funny,, clutch pedal to floor etc and went flat. Only thing I can say is that Nissan 370's have notoriously bad clutch issues tranny and if you are able to document anything and have a way to craft it into a bad transmission system, those guys at the dealership aught to change the whol ething out for free. They have experience and KNOW, that the manual transmission system is the achilles heel in this car. For me, whne they replaced the entire thing (slave cyclinder, clutch pedal, spring assembly) they were apologetic as I pretty much bitched at them that it occured on the highway. Sounds like the makings of something that COULD be manual clutch related. Always good to give the dealership a heads up and document what you can, at some point they'll bite the bullet for you because they've heard this drumbeat thousands of times. Till then, just hope you won't die on the freeway my man, and I'll be keepin ya in my prayers.

God I cannot stand young kids wanting to constantly race. Can't kill em, cuz you can only do it once.

out of warranty....only 22k miles but over 36 months unless that's counted under the 5/60 powertrain.....
will see if it keeps doing it.

It'll still be the 5/60k. It's engine/clutch related. That's powertrain for sure.

Embarrassing....it was the damned floormats. Had aftermarket mats sitting on top of the OEM ones that slid up and got caught under the pedal. Pulled out the OEM mats and used the hooks to secure the aftermarket ones....All better.

Should have guessed that.

Glad yours was simple fix. The throttle body is drive by wire. Sometimes they need to be recalibrated, it's a simple DIy process but in your case, not needed.
