When I took this car for a test drive 4k ago, I felt it ONCE and slightly. I should have listened to my instinct and had it checked out.

It's gotten to the point now that whenever I am in D, R, or more rarely N and P, the car will stutter at idle. I've read a similar thread about gas quality, but I have put in tank after tank of different fuel from different places, with fuel additives (no, not bg44k yet), and get the same thing. It is kind of hard to describe, but it is as if the engine stalls for 1/1000 of a second, then comes right back. Not noticeable while driving but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. WHY OH WHY???? This is such a nice car, it figures at only 80k it would have these issues. I'm praying it's not an injector, I hear they are expensive.

I do have a CEL on for o2 sensor, but it was doing this before I had the CEL (when I first got the car), and it is the same with or without. All I can tell is that it is getting worse and worse by the week, to the point where at a stop sign my car keeps kicking from the torque of the stutter. It is ridiculously annoying, and I'm sure not good for the vehicle. There is nothing in the codes for it and I am praying someone here can chime in. Thanks so much for reading along.

If you have a CEL for an O2 sensor, you are running rich on that bank. So replace failed parts first. You will find this will inlcude the spark plugs on that bank, then the other bank will be more worn, so you might as well replace all 8. Do the EGR, IAC, and pVC valves while you are at it. Then there is the TB butterfly and plenum passageways.

Also, do a search on ISO-HEET.

UPDATE

I have not had this issue for nearly 15k miles. I have replaced all fluids in the vehicle, and that is basically it. I did replace 2 o2 sensors that intermittently threw codes.

How is everyone else making out here with their skipping? I have no idea what solved mine, I can only think the o2 sensors were sending poor signals to the ecu....hmmm....
