really a fuel cut??

wondering about the "fuel cut" when you hit the rev limiter. does it actually cut the fuel? or cut the ignition. just curious because recent track events i've been bouncing off it. if its actually a fuel cut, i was thinking about investing in that BE REV thing. where it cuts the ign rather then cut the fuel.

kamin is 95% sure its a ign cut with the system nissan designed. can anyone give me that last 5%??

OHH BTW KRYTON I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.... CAMERON IS GOD SO WHY DON'T YOU ASK HIM, HE IS THE ALL-KNOWING RB KING.

Where the hell did that come from? Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's ignition cut. why would Nissan put a fuel cut on their "performance" turbo engines?

I'M SAYING THAT MY ECU IS CUTTING IGNITION BUT ITS NOT BECAUSE OF A REV LIMITER..... IF YOU GUYS WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR TO SHOW YOU WHAT I MEEN YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO.

THAT CAME FROM THE FACT THAT EVERYONE HERE IN AZ BASHES THE HELL OUT OF ME FOR SPEAKING MY OPINION ABOUT CAMERON AND THEY ALL PRAISE HIM AS THE RB GOD, SO WHY DON'T THEY ASK HIM HE KNOWS EVERYTHING ANYWAY.

is your wastegate plugged in right? or is your ecu in safe mode?

YES MY WASTEGATES IN RIGHT AND THE ECU IS FINE.... ITS DONE IT ON TWO ECUS. THERE IS A WHOLE THREAD ABOUT THIS, I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AND NOW I'M GOING TO TRY A STANDALONE TO SEE IF I CAN BYPASS SOME SENSORS.

BTW: KRAYTON MY COMMENTS WEREN'T REALLY DIRECTED AT YOU AS YOU HAVE NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO OR ABOUT ME THAT I KNOW OF.... ITS JUST MY FRUSTRATION WITH THE OTHER PEOPLE.

Mazda used fuel cut on the RX-7's, and that is there performance car.

SPARK IS MORE IMMEDIATE AND IT ALLOWS VERY LITTLE DEVIENCE WHILE A FUEL CUT CAN SOMETIMES ALLOW YOU TO GO OVER A FEW HUNDRED RPMS AND THEN IT'LL SETTLE OUT TO THE LIMITED AREA.

PERFECT EXAMPLE IS THE KA24E IN THE 89-90 MODELS....

I didn't know that. It seems odd that they would use fuel cut in a boosted engine seeing how it could cause detonation if cut during boost.

I don't know why they would do it either, especially in a rotary that can't handle any detonation. But they did. Fuel cut Defender was one of the first mods I had to do.

Now back to your regulary scheduled Nissan discussion: What was the answer?

i got a rb25 in s13, at first, I have a choke on the stock bov when I rev up to 4-5 thousand rpm. I don't know if that's a cut or not. Now, I have a blitz bov, It does not choke or cut anymore.

i read ur post and u mention of fuel cut in the 89 and 90 models of the 240s. i have an 89 model ka24e and i think it's been getting a fuel cut at 4500 -5000 rpm ... depending on how much i punch the pedal... any ideas of what i can do to fix it? if i slowly press the pedal and let the engine slowly build up i can push it to 5000 rpm but then it chokes and the rpm drops back down to idle. the engine sounds like it's near red line right before the choke. before i was able to rev it to around 6500 rpm with no problem.. had a head from the junk placed in and a new clutch... not sure it that caused it.
