New owner of a 100% stock, low-km '99 S15 Spec-R. I'm planning to modify a bit, but given that it's actually worth quite a bit more as 100% stock, I want to stick to nondestructive, 100% reversible mods.

Since installing a FMIC appears to require drilling a hole in the battery box for piping (which I'm not going to do), it looks like I'm stuck with the tiny factory S15 intercooler. I'm not looking for big power increases anyway, so any guidance of what is reachable with reversible mods?

Thanks!

Anything you can do to increase airflow to the intercooler will help, and so will having a little water sprayer or something on it. You could also do meth injection.
Of course, you could always run a blow-through MAF near the throttle body and just increase boost as well haha.

Since those intercoolers are pretty square, going forced-air on it shouldn't be too difficult. SPAL makes some very nice small-dimension pancake fans (down to about 5") and even the littlest ones move 300+ cfm.

Might look into water spray. Meth injection is farther than I want to go though. :D

That's a great idea! Seems like the MR2 folks to that a lot with their SMICs. Looks like SPAL has a presence here in Japan, so I should be able to find something that will fit. Thanks!

You're most welcome! If you rig something up, post some pics and details.
