Hi all! New to the forum. I recently test drove a '06 G35 Coupe (auto) and fell in love! Now I'm looking into buying such car. I've never owned a V6 car and naturally it will be a little hard to adjust to the higher fuel consumption. Obviously, I don't expect to set any economy records in the G35 but can you give me some idea what I should expect form it in my everyday commute. The EPA numbers vary from 16 to 25 and that is not helping me much. Some ppl say they average 22mpg. Is that possible? Thanks!

Very possible I'd say.

My '03 when completely stock I average 23-24mpg, 21 when driven hard in the city and 26 on hwy.

I'm currently getting 19mpg avg after JWT popcharger and Z tube and really not sure why its lowered that much (unless my foot just got lead filled).

My MPG, because of my 75% city driving, awd, trunk victims and leadfoot, is around 17mpg. But if I really wanted to , I could hit 20. Most people are around the 18-22mpg mark.

I don't think 22mpg is realistic. You would have to be 75% highway driving to get even close. My 03 Coupe averaged 17 with about 75% urban driving. I just got 18 out of a tank on my 08 G37C with abou 70% urban driving. I see your from Los Angeles and if any of the cliches abou LA freeways are true you will not get anywhere close to 22 mpg. Also you will have to resist the temptation to have to much fun!

Yeah LA freeways are bad, but fortunately my daily commute is not too bad - mostly 65-75mph driving, and rarely stuck in bumper to bumper. That's why I'm hoping for a 20+ average. The temptation to have fun thou, is a whole other story This is the kind of car that I would take out in the canyons on the weekends, just to have fun. From posts so far I'm optimistic about a decent mpg for commuting. Not planning on doing any mods either. Appreciate all the feedback! Keep them coming!

Cruising at 80, I can hit between 26-28 MPG, but that's cruising at 80 on a whole tank.

Depending on how long you're at 65-75, you'll probably be right around 21 or 22 I would say, but there's potential for going higher.

Always use premium, I have found it's helped achieve better mpg.I've got around 750km on a hwy tank. I'm also averageing around 19mpg city, so I get around 600km city per tank.

If I stomp on the gas, I can literally see the gas indicator drop as I peel out.

They're great cars, you'll have no regrets... unless gas goes way up, it may cost like $100+ to fill Even then, it's still worth it

even when gas was $3.50 a gallon here...I would fill up premium and drive like I was racing. but yeah, totally worth it.

I have a '06 coupe with auto, and a little app on the old iPhone that tracks the gas mileage.

With 50,000 miles behind her, the average mpg is 22.26, worst ever is 15.0 and best ever 26.9. I'm not heavy footed and the my driving is split 40% city, 60% Interstate.

I have a 5AT as well, I average around 20-21 mpg (70% city), 19 mpg during the winter, and 24-28 mpg on the HWY. My best mileage so far is 29 mpg.

Modding my car has made my freeway mileage go up.
