Hi all, Within the next two months, I'll be buying winter tires and regular wheels (blackies). So, for all of you people driving in real winter condition (If you are in Tuscon, AZ, don't bother ), what are your plans ?

What I would like to know is:Tire on date, Tire off date, diameter (sticking to 15 ?), Mags or blackies and Brand of tire (studs or not)

In example, as I plan it (for Québec):Tire on: late novemberTire off: late marchDiameter: 15 inchesWheels: regular blackiesBrand of tire: Bridgestone Blizzak (studless)

I know some of these answers will vary with the area, but still, it's interesting to know.

Thanks !

My plans:

Switch to the Tucson (it has TCS and ESP in addition to the ABS and EBD, plus the transmission's gearing is more conducive to winter driving. It did great last year, even on nearly bald tires, which have since been replaced)

Remain on all-season radials. Carry ez-fit tire chains in case I need to go over the passes.

Well seeing I live in Cali I leave the same tires on all year around. Temp here ranges from 50~ to about 105~ where I live though out all the year.
