How can you tell if the engine is swapped or if it is a factory tt? I know you can look at the vin but what letter tells you and what is it suppose to be? Just curious

Usually you can tell its not a TT by the missing HICAS (in the back, not under the hood), I have never heard of anyone adding HICAS to their car.

you can tell by many things...usually yes the hicas missing is ideal but u can tell by the psi meter marking the turbo boost.... the sport and touring button..the list can continue... but yea go with the hicas check up

Also, a swapped TT will cruise at about 3500 RPMs in 5th gear at 85mph due to the ratio of the N/A diff.

That is for the Euro Z32's. USDM Z's and pretty much all other Z's codes up to Z32 can be found Here.

VIN is the ONLY difinitive way to tell.

Be wary of TT's (or any Z for that matter) that runs rough. Especially if its been running rough for some time.

before you go look at it, go to Autozone and rent a compression gauge and test the comp on the engine before you make any decisions. do it cold and hot if possible. sometimes compression problems can be masked on a warm engine but will stick out on a cold one.

Ill be sure to do that. He really thinks it's the engine harness but im gonna look over everything. hopefully it's just a vacuum leak somewhere lol

ALL factory Nissan/ Datsun turbo cars have a "C" code, as in JN1CZ, if it's and R or and S or anythign other than a C for any S130, Z31 or Z32 that it wasn't a factory Turbo car
