Yeah, I've thought about it a few times. My buddy has an ebay short shifter in his integra and I guess it's not bad... And they are a LOT cheaper...But of course, I'm not gonna be spending much more on my car til this ~$1900 is paid off.s14tan wrote: and im thinking about getting a generic short shifter just to try it out but im not sure.

Good luck with that bro. I might just buy one and try it out.. but I hear they have rattling issues.FeintMind wrote:Yeah, I've thought about it a few times. Too bad not available on the 14..
i've got one on my civic. if i was going to do it again, i would just go ahead and get the real one. it does rattle, but you can fix that by grinding away part of the exhaust cover plate thingy, at least on a civic. but the biggest problem i have seen is the second gear grind that appeared. apparently the cheap shifters do bad things to the syncros, and hondas have weak syncros to begin with. cover your *** with a $60 shifter now so you dont have $400+ in transmission damage later.s14tan wrote: im thinking about getting a generic short shifter just to try it out but im not sure.
