i'm about to buy this turbo but i'm can't tell if it's fake or real. it only says garret on the exhaust side. the compresser side doesn't say garrett on it, only the AR. He says he bought it from http://agpturbo.com. So what do you guys think?

are you buying it from that company or a private seller? There are many turbo's that claim to be GARRETT because they will use a garrett turbine housing and possible garrett internals.... i say buy a turbo from one of our sponsors..... http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gatu.html

if it makes you feel any better my garrett came in its garrett box and had the same exact .60 compressor housing. If I recall corectly Fiz's turbo looked the same way. Also on cheapturbos.com or one of the other guys I cant remember which one has pics of their turbos and alot dont have garrett on the compressor.

And even if it isn't all geniune Garrett, if it is properly built with quality materials, it's fine. It probably is a hybrid put together by AGP, so it may be higher performing than a Garrett. I would tell you not to worry about it, but for what it's worth, mine is all Garrett. So ya know, take it or leave it.

Yes, but you need to understand that 7psi is not the same on a t25 as it is on a t70. A T25 becomes a little small at anything lower than 7 psi, whereas a proper T3/T4 setup will be more than suitable at that pressure. For instance I am using what is referred to as a 'drag turbo', a T3/To4B. So it matters, but if you are looking for a reasonable turbo, do like I do and get a Z31 T3 turbo and get a compressor upgrade if you like. It will not be as good as a new T3/T4, but good for cheap.

The Yahoo link, or Phoenix Turbo, whatever...doesn't use Garret internals either. In fact, you can't rebuild one either because they use a smaller shaft...so the rebuild kits you buy have the wrong size seals. If you want a garret, buy from Garret.

S13, you will find an easier time if you find a T3 that was used on a Ford or Chevy, you will find it much easier to find the DP flange for.
