the girlfriend has an s13 silvia backhome in aust with a host of mods however nothing to make it any quicker. it is an NA SR (SR20DE) original engine. as im spending the winter here in the US im thinking of grabing a nos setup to take home with me to trial in her car, then looking to throw something in my sr20det if successful.

you guys using this forum appear to know alot more about nitrous systems than my usual australian forum so here are my q's.

i hear everyone seems to recommend wet systems for std vehicles, why? which sys would you recommend in terms of brand/specs etc...?is it as dangerous as ive heard, ie blowing yourself up?

not looking to push to the limit, just improve speed. bit of a backyard mechanic so ive done engine modifications before, though never nitrous. is it just a matter of hooking it all together? the impression i get from the manufacturers websites makes it look like a couple of hours work max.

You wont blow yourself up, you'll blow your engine up. If you are not expierienced in cars then it will not be easy. The least amount you would use is like a 50 shot. I wouldnt go over that with stock internals. Some will say that you can do mor but i dont think its good. DOnt throw your money away. Spend it on better upgrades. Look at the General forum for some ideas.

I personally wouldn't hesitate to run a 100-150 direct port wet system on an SR, I think it's sturdy enough to take it as long as the system is tuned correctly (yes, even with nitrous dyno tuning is very good ;)). Set up correctly is important as well and I don't think I'm qualified to say the best way to do that :) Of course, the motor should be in tip top shape as well.
