Well, those AWD results seem a little skewed there by that one/two person/people who is/are incapable of correctly calculating mpg, or incapable of filling in forms correctly. It's probably the same guy.

I'm sorry, but there is no way driving 80% hwy with an average 62mph, on level terrain with no a/c usage and a light foot is going to get you 15.7mpg. No way in hell. Well, unless he was driving with his parking brake on, or towing a cruise liner.

This current tank, I'm driving lightly, seeing how many miles I can get off it. 125 miles so far, 65% hwy where I average 65mph, the readout thus far seems to be in the 22-24mpg vicinity.

Thanks, guys. I'm following up with this participant.

We want to do some further analyses, but need responses in a varying range of conditions to make this possible. So more participants in this survey would be helpful.

I wish I could get that mileage - The best I have been able to get is 16- 16.5 MPG, that's with mostly suburban driving, and some highway driving mixed in. We only have 1000 miles on the car, so perhaps the mileage will get better when the engine is broken in a bit more?

Has anyone else noticed an increase in MPG after the car is driven more?

My '08 AWD Journey with 9,500 mi has NEVER gotten better than 18mpg overall in the 11 months that I have owned t. Average for me is 16.5 mpg, combined 50/50.I drive with air conditioning on most of the time, albeit set a 68 degrees. . I do not have a lead foot and I rarely use manual or sport modes. That is with Premium (91).RCH

Well I just finished that tank after a trip up to Staten Island and back from Philly.

461 miles off the whole tank and it took 19.1 gallons to fill up - 24.1mpg

Premium gas, 80% Hwy miles where I stayed between 60-70mph, no a/c cos its cold enough, light foot and its pretty flat around here. Must say though, I did get a bit bored driving so economically!

FIRST TRIP (MYRTLE BEACH, SC)=======================================

Ok, I was able to do 21 MPG.

After about 208 miles of highway driving and 108 miles of city driving (316 miles), I reloaded my gas (full tank) and it was 15.0 gallons.

So, I averaged 21.07 MPG with 65/35 highway/city driving.

I hit 103 MPH on the highway (averaged 75-85). And yeah, I've been using the DS mode occasionally ... err ok ok ... frequently ...

I just want to step on it and go. But still hoping to do 23-24 MPG ... lol.

SECOND TRIP (VIRGINIA BEACH)====================================

Ok, my second trip was better. I was able to do 21.8 MPG.

Reloaded my gas when I saw a cheap gas station. 307 miles and got 14.1 gallons ... so average 21.77 MPG.

So .... the MPG gets better .. now that I surpassed 1,000 mile on my odometer.
