This is a real crazy conversion. i have been talking to this company in Canada. Well dont get mad at me cuz i know how people get sometimes. With my car i'm about to do a crazy Hybrid swap to my car by march or earlier my car will be complete, i'm doing a twin turbo supra swap for this 240 that i have and my next 240 with will be my daily driver will be a KA-T. but please let me know what you think..

why not an rb26dett instead of a 2jzgte? It would most certainly be unique, would stay nissan, and would have even more power to be tapped.......

thats true but i wanted to do some truely different to my car, its not like i'm put and rx-7 motor in my car(ticking time bomb). i've been pricing for the rb26 and the 2jz and they are both really close in price.

If you have the money, then by all means, go for it.

Keep us posted with progress and when you finish it, but until its done, its nothing to get too excited about. We all have incredible dreams and goals for our cars, but very few people actually see them through.

2JZ would be easier(figuratively speaking)

The turbos are on the pass. side(Unlike the RB26) and parts aren't exactly plentiful for the RB series.(read-expensive)

I'm pretty sure its been done; and i have no idea why. no one seems to realize the beauty of the 240 is the balance. If you want 1khp then get a supra. If you want to build a motor to the 300-400 range then buy a 240 and do something more conventional (KAT, SR, RB20)

the only problem with doing the RB26 is that most of those are 4WD engines. i believe even the TT supras were still RWD, so no chassis modding will be needed

that requires lots of money. that's why it hasn't been done too much. i'd rather save the money of the RB25 and just adapt the 240 chassis to accept 4WD.

goodluck with that, as cyberkreig said, its gonna throw the balance of the car off horribly, id stick with an RB20 or soemthing like that, not a bigass 2jz or RB26DETT

ummm....that would cost more. I don't think anyone has made an AWD 240. But people have done a RWD RB26. It's thousands of times cheaper and easier than getting an AWD 240 done.

Im sure somebody has done it. There are alot of rich folks who can afford it that YOU dont know about... i would love to have a AWD 240. It would kick more a$$ than a RWD. More versitile too.

AWD 240 w/ a Supra engine.......... Dude bust out the whistle tips, cause your car is gonna go WOO-WHOOOO! Give me a break. If you want to do this then skip out on the expensive body-kit and Bride interior. It sounds like you want a show-car more.

People can say what they want but, talk is cheap. When I see someone actually bother making a 240 AWD or see them swap in a "hybrid" motor and they have pics then maybe this will have relevance. Just my opinion, if you actually want to waste probably about 15-20 grand on this project then go for it.

yeah it has been done, i think there was a link on 240sxforums.com but can't remeber for sure, i believe that the guy is running 9's in the quarter mile

not tryin to flame, but i have a few questions

a)how much does the 2jz weigh?b)where will it sit in the engine bay in comparison to the ka?, becaues even a few inches forwards or backwards will have a huge effect on the handling of the carc)what parts need to be custom fabricated?

thanks

i'll believe it when i see it. there are too many people out there trying to hype up what they don't have or what they "plan" on doing, but it's all just BS until it's done. too many people have come and gone on their pipe dreams of having the first 4wd 240 or twin 1000hp 2jz's side by side in their 71 ford pinto to believe it until it's done.

Yah, it has been done. According to the person who did it.. it was better than even the RB26DETT swap he had.

Read the posts again Senior Drifter, they are talking about an AWD 240. That's where I got the idea from.

Whoa!
