Yeah, bracket for the CAS so you can run with no timing cover. I prefer having the timing cover to protect the belt from any possible FOD. You never know what can fly up in there. I have seen weirder things happen.

I have no CAS and about ruined my motor by not running an upper cover. Somehow, and this still amazes me to this day, a small pebble managed to get down into the lower cover from that opening and get stuck down between the belt and the oil pump. It actually rubbed the belt into 2 pieces, but luckily the belt stayed together and I was able to replace it before it let go.

Needless to say, I run an upper cover now.

It amazes me no one has made a clear plastic upper cover like has been done for the RB motor. I bet i could make a sweet modded one with a dremel, clear plexiglass square, JB weld, and some LED's =p

A workmate was saying that at high school they had a machine that heat plastic vaccum wrapped any object you put in it, then once it hardens, you simply trim it and drill the holes...Im pretty keen to see what happens with a CA Pulley cover =)
