Love both versions (2006 350Z), but really lean toward buying the ragtop since getting a convertible sports car is what led me to the Z. Advice/experience from anyone that regrets which model you bought? May purchase this weekend.

IMO, the ragtop ruins the lines of the 350z. But you will have unstoppable fun.

Yeah, I'm not a fan at all of the 350Z 'verts. If you want a good looking 'vert, I prefer the Solstice/Sky. Those are nicely designed tops. I'd definitely go hard top.

The 350Z is one very rare car where I think the coupe is better looking, but I guarantee you'll have more fun with the top down.

I'd go hard top in the 350Z, but drop top in the G or 370.

Personally, I like convertibles that were designed to be such from the beginning... the more "vert" they were supposed to be, the better (like strictly designed as a vert, to designed as a vert with a coupe model in mind, to design of a coupe with a vert in mind... in that order).

If you plan on track days, or real aggressive driving, or want a real sports car that you can drive the s*** out of... coupe.

If you can stand the looks of the vert with top up, and like the word "sporty" and just want an enjoyable car that is "cool" and impresses your friends... vert.

Unless you are really driving the s*** out of it, your probably not going to care from a performance stand point... and open air is very nice.

The 350Z Roadster is hideous. I mean, the 350Z is ugly, but man, the Roadster really hurts the eyes.

They do alright with the top down.

Verts with top up are never great, but the 350 is some next level s***.

I thought Nissan bought all the ragtops back to get rid of the evidence that they ever existed. Coupe it.

lol, I read about that recall, big news... First time an automaker has stepped up to do a voluntary recall based on an aesthetic failure.

Get the coupe, if you want a roadster get an s2000 or a sky redline, hell even the E46 M3 convertible is a fun car.

or you can do a targa mod

Driving with both windows down in the Z gives me enough gratification as a convertible would.

Welcome to NICO :)

I think its about 3 grand to do, without the roof a few things for structural support and reinforcement are added. Definitely does blow minds heh

Thanks for your thoughts. As much as I love the coupe, I could not resist the roadster. Bought a nice little white 06 with 38k. What a great ride. Hands down more fun than my '89 Supra Turbo targa-top. Totally impractical - must be why I love it!!

wow, they should have brought back targa for the Z.

I'd go convertible, the hardtop is a blindspot.
