ok so i know i posted this a whillle back but i left for navy deployment shortly after and never got a chance to get this done. So I need your help guys. I want to purchase the HID kit from DDMtunning. i have an 09 3.5 coupe. I remember someone saying that with our automatic on/off light feature there was an additional accesory that we needed to purchase with this kit. Im ready to buy the sim ballast kit but i want to get everything all at once.

here are my questions. is it the error code eliminator that i need to buy in order for the automatic light feature to work?? Should i get the 35 or 55 watt kit? whats a nice yellow color temp for fog lights? ill be going with 8000k for the head lights and high beams im leaving alone. and lastly what bulb type do i need for head lights and fog lights( was it h11 for both head light and fog light?). also for fog lights do i need the fog light adapter harness.

thanks in advance for your help everyone. i want to order this this week so if anyone here has purchased this kit please chime in and let me know all that you ordered. any pics would be great toohttp://www.ddmtuning.com/index...&pg=1

so basically, we've already answered all of these questions, and the answers could be found easily by using the search button... but you want us to give them all to you so you can be as lazy as possible and still get what you need? Does that about sum it up?

... you know you deserved that one, but hey its christmas time

1. error code eliminator is only for turn signals if you replace them with LED turns signals... so don't worry about that

2. Regarding the auto-on feature + aftermarket HID's, some folks were having issues with only one bulb turning on, some folks were not. That problem was usually solved with an HID relay kit. They can be found for pretty cheap, like $20 or less. And that you can order from DDM tuning when you get your HID kit. DDM tuning's relay kits come with dual triggers instead of only using a single headlight's signal to trigger the kit ... now I'm not saying that you will definately need this (my wife has had Xentecs installed for over two years now and she never has a problem with her auto-on feature not turning on both headlights) but its better to get it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

3. Please just get the 35watt kit. The headlight beam pattern is different on the headlights that come with HID vs the ones that don't. and on the ones that don't have HID (i.e. your headlights) you get a bit of scattered light with aftermarket 35watt HID's, but its manageable. if you get a 55 watt kit, it will be bright as all hell to oncoming passengers, you will have even more scattered light, and it just is not safe for oncoming traffic... 35 watts kit is just fine!

4. a nice yellow color for the fogs is 3000K

5. you need H11 HID kit bulbs for both fogs and headlights

6. If you don't have fogs already, then you will need to buy fog light harnesses, either from ebay or from the dealer. You should have a plug hanging down there to hook up to the new fogs. also, if you get HID kits for the fogs, you may definitely need a relay kit for those as well... My fog light HID's always flickered until I got a relay kit for them, then the flicker went away!

7. Happy Holidays!

Definitely go with the 35watt kit, 55 is excessive. I have the DDM Tuning Slim Ballast HIDs (35w 6000k's) and i have no problem with the auto feature. my error light came up for a week or two after i first installed them but eventually went away.

When you're installing, make sure the black wires match up from the ballast to the OEM harness, if they don't your HID's won't work. if they don't match up, it's a quick 2 minute fix by pulling the tab back inside the plastic connector and switching the wires. Instructions for that can be found here:http://www.acceleronics.com/HID/IfBackwards.htm

Also, going through the wheel well is the easiest way to install (so you can be lazy and not search for it). Removing the bumper is just too much of a b****.zerothread/294364

and here's a pic (albeit a s***ty one) of my HIDs

Is removing the front bumper necessary to installing an HID KIT?
because some of the people on here were recommending it.
