Ok, so I realize that using the tracert command in the MSDOS prompt can tell me a lot about how my connection is performing. Well, the connection has been better, so I'm trying to figure out whats ailing it. The problem is, I don't know how to read these things. I know the first hop is the time to the modem, but after that I'm stuck. On the computer next to the modem that is wired to the router, I get all <1ms at the first hop (what it should be). Upstairs on the bad wireless connection, it ranges, but its never <1ms, instead its usually 1 or 2ms, sometimes 3. I also get odd and extremely varied readings at hop nine. Can anyone tell me what each hop is, or where to find it out?

What the hell.

That was a joke dude.

Either way, I'd like a reference to the Nico policy that I am skirting that would be grounds for a vacation please.

Thanks for the advice PMQ, but I had already searched Google. Like most people I search there first. I couldnt find an explanation on what each hop is.

I knew you were going to quote that overview.

I would like a little further clarrification on this situation by someone that is actually in the position to assign a vacation.

You are a moderator. Nico policy is that, unless in absolute extreme measures, a vacation or banning should be agreed upon by two or more administrators. Moderators, or "super moderators" do not have that authority.

I've been temporarily banned before. I discussed this issue with greg directly on two seperate occasions two years ago.

I will be speaking with greg on this matter.

The policy that you quoted is not a specific grounds for anything EXCEPT deleting content! Unless those circumstances are extreme enough to warrant a banning.

If you are going to single me out because I'm a smartass with people I'd like to see where you've singled out the other 50 or so people that do this on a regular moreso then me.

I've dropped my posting down to maybe twice a day. I'd have to make some very extreme statements for those few posts to be grounds for a vacation.

Feel free to talk to Greg.

As stated before, you need to contact me via AIM or Email. This isn't the time or place for it.

PMQ, you can be put on vacation at any point just for being a douche and it has NOTHING to do with anybody else but you. Please, contact Greg all you want. I have him on speed dial if that helps. Do you really think that threatening to talk to Greg because a staff member is trying to do his job is any kind of intimidation at all? And, as a matter of fact, any super mod DOES have the ability to ban anyone, at any time. It's why they were made super mods. You have zero understanding of NICO staff structure and responsibility, but I will tell you that we frown on general douchebaggery to staff and more importantly, to other members.

I would recommend you log off, take a break for a bit and when you decide to come back, come back without the attitude. And yes, I have more than enough authority to ban your IP permanently. Thanks.

If you need further clarification on the "upon 2 or more administrators..." please know that I feel the same way as Beaner and Repo. Now you have a chance to adjust your 'tude and demeanor, the balls in your court.

PMQ, trust me...more than 2 mods agree. Remember that NICO is not a democracy. Just watch your P's and Q's...and don't get all defensive when criticized or corrected.

You guys keep saying "atitude"

Can someone plese explain what you're talking about, or what you mean by "attitude"

I *think* you're talking about me being a smartass in my replies to people, but I'm not sure.

Can someone please clarrify this.

And no, I did not threaten to talk to greg, I stated that I would probably contact greg on the issue.

Note: it's been three years since I've dealt with Nico staff. So the inner workings have obviously changed.

Anyone care to explain the proplem, please?

Thank You

-Brien

LOL.

I know what an attitude is, I just don't know what you guys are telling me to cut back on. It's alright to have an attitude, but what kind of attitude to you don't want me to have?

It's not my job to sit down with you and have to explain to you with little puzzles and pop up books how to act normal. And for that I do apologize. I have a ton of more important things that need to be done.

This makes no sense. You guys are telling me to stop something, but not telling me what.

That's like when you asked your mom "why?" and she simply responded with "because I said so"

Look, we told you that your attitude and deameanor around the boards was whack. It's up to you to figure out why and adjust. We've never had a problem telling anyone else that. Ever.
