after reading a post by Wes i was convinced that tps was bad or the ecu connector was not on right so today i pulled some codes when i woke up . the ecu is a little hard to get out but, after it was all said and done i puled a code. the code was # 13 ECT .but what is ECT ...... timing ? and if it is, then is the timing off or is the timing unit bad. my Q is a 92 q45 with 118,000 miles new coils & plugs and a bad shake off the line that you can feel most an 2000 rpm. i know that i need a few injectors as well but this was the one and only code i got

Engine Coolant Temperature sensor.

thanks is the temp sensor bad or need to be clean .... this is a little odd because the temp gage is fine. 13 is the only code i get with the led light . what are some symptoms of a bad temp.

the CEL will be on, and it will run a little rich and idle high...

Give us any goofy symptoms.....

BTW theres a seperate (smaller and LESS ACCURATE) temp sensor for the gauge, and a bigger and more accurate one fo rthe ECU.

i read the code and started the car then reset the ecu...... got code 55 system ok. then wormed the Q up , it was running nice when it was cold. worm up to running temp then started to feel like it was misfiring .i have to take the ecu out then check it tomorrow to see if the code reappears... other than that i think i might have the same problem as Wes was having with the TPS how much was the sensor on the throttle body

I DOUBT the TPS is causing any problems... Trust me.. my car idled fine it just didnt shift right...
