Hello
I found a 95 Nissan with a KA24 that wasn't running, found the gas was bad , it had been setting for a couple of years. Removed the bed took out the fuel pump removed all the old gas, the strainer was off and the black around the bump was crumbling> I removed all the trash I could and got the fuel pump to run, also cleaned the dirty throttle body. Now after putting everything back together the check engine light is on. It was not on before.
I checked the codes the only code I am getting is 41 (Intake Air Temperature Sensor) which was unhooked when I got the truck, the plug from the harness is missing.
will the air temperature sensor keep the engine from starting or running correctly if left un hooked ?
Is there something else I may be missing?
is there a way to jump out this sensor?

One thing I forgot to mention was there was gas in the oil when I checked it, I'm not sure how many times the previous owner had tried to start it with the bad gas and know he did pore some in the throttle body thinking it was a carb, just don't know how much. I drained and changed the oil and there don't seam to be any gas in the oil now. It did smoke really bad while running before I discovered the gas in the oil, could I have fouled something causing the code?
