Does the Rogue really not have good heat to your feet? If it doesn't I think it would make my decision to buy a no.

I have to turn the fan all the way down and the temp down in my little focus or I get too hot and I'm cold blooded. It is ridiculous to make a car that will be used in a cold climate that won't even keep your feet warm.

The feet heat function in the Rogue is not great like I said in the previous post, where in your focus you would turn down the heat because it's too hot, in the Rogue you would likely have to keep the fan cranked pretty high, this is partially due to the fact that you can't send 100% of the heat to the front heat vents, some goes to the back (which I think is great), and I believe some comes out the top vents - Philip gives the precise distribution in another post on this topic which is great info to review....

Well I live in Edmonton Alberta, Canada, the temps were close to -30C earlier this week. Although I agree the heater could be a bit stronger, I have not had any problems at least staying comfy. Yes I have to set the temp to high for most of my commute, but I dont have a problem with that.I find the newer more modern engine designs seem to take longer to warm up.Fortunately I have seat heaters and they really do warm up quickly, which does help keeping me comfy as well.

So if the heater isn't all that great how is the air conditioning?

At this time I believe the air conditioning should be cold as fridge.

Too funny, just like when I go to test drive one on Saturday it will 50 degrees and hard to tell how warm the heater will be.

Well again in my opinion the heat is fine, it's just that the foot area gets a lower % distribution of the heat. The a/c works well, it was a long hot summer and I had no complaints, it was quiet and doesn't put a noticable load on the engine which is one of my main concerns. I hate vehicles where the a/c puts such a heavy load on the motor that when you turn it on at idle you can feel the jolt and the rpms drop, and the vehicle is underpowered while running the a/c - the Rogue does NOT have this problem, the powertrain does not suffer when the a/c is on and for that reason I'm very happy. But in terms of cold air output, it depends on what you compare it to. I'd say it's at least average, but if your old car had an awesome a/c you may not agree, but I'd be confident saying that you wouldn't find the a/c to be poor, I've been very happy. Perhaps others can comment so you get a good sampling of opinions.

Well I live about half way between Paul and kerrton, and I have to agree with Paul that the heat is more than sufficient.

It does take a little longer to come on, but usually about 5-10 min into my drive, the engine is at ideal operating temp. and the heat is plenty warm enough.

p.s. Paul: I thought you guys reached -38.5C a few days ago. You're right that's in the thirties, but pushing it.

Well when it gets that cold, you dont really notice the difference between -30 and -38 All in all we are still happy with our Rogue. Although parked in my garage( not heated) I have yet to plug it in. Yet it starts without hesitation. Yes the CVT stays in "higher" gear until the car is warmed up, but I always take her easy anyways. I dont believe in having the car idle for more than a few minutes. I have always been told that the best way to warm up the engine is to drive it but to just take it easy on the gas pedal !!!Paul

Thanks, hopefully I will get some more input. I really like the style and what I read about the Rogue but don't like the heat and transmission things I've been reading. But maybe some of that is false also. I've never had or drove anything with a cvt transmission either so maybe I'll think there is something wrong with it also. BTW the air in my Focus isn't good if it's real hot out.

Is there a way to view a post before you actually post it?
