I'm currently looking for a scan tool/code reader that will be able to read the transmission fluid temperature on my 2012 M37x. I have changed the fluid a couple of times and used an infrared thermometer to guess the temperature of the fluid but I don't trust that it is close enough due to having to measure from outside of the pan. I currently have the Zurich ZR13s from Harbor Freight which doesn't have the capability to do this. And apparently people are having issues with the ZR15s reading this data even though it's suppose to. I'm not looking for something that will break the bank either. Any suggestions?

Honestly most OBD-II scanners that can show real-time data should be able to grab ATF temps.

Since I already had my scanners out today while tinkering, here's an example screenshot from Car Scanner Pro (smartphone app) talking to my 2011 M37x via an iCar Pro OBD-II bluetooth adapter:

Bluetooth App (iOS / Android): https://www.carscanner.info/
Example compatible bluetooth module: https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Bluetooth- ... B06XGB4873

As another data point, the Foxwell NT710 will also do this, but it's overkill for simple data collection. (No screenshot handy, but it's basically the same data / view)

Thank you for this insight and clear direction. I will weigh both options.
