this is a pretty cool trick that any one can do with the s13 240sx!! today I was fixing some wiring under the dash of my 91 s13, and I have a pivot headlight controller that adjusts the pop up head lights from 10% to 80% any way I have the lights set to like 20% and I was checking some fuses on the drivers side kick panel when I decided to pull the 5 amp fuse on the right row that is the 6th one down that says "light control" I pulled it and then turned my headlights on and the did not move all the way up! they still stayed at 20%!! but the head lights did turn on!! it looks way cool!! I see D1 drift cars that do this and have, and have always wondered how they did it? Im pretty sure this is how!! what I want to do know is run wiring from one side of the fuse insert then have a switch and then wire it to the other fuse insert so I can have the sleepy eyes with head lights on and then switch to just normal full up head lights!! any way Im sure some of you guys have done this or know about it, just a heads up to those who dont! have fun!!!

You can cut the brown wire going into the back of the popup switch on the left side of the steering column and when you turn the lights off you can press that to stop the lights however closed or open you want them.

There is also a wire you can cut in the driver side footwell somewhere that you can put a switch on and turn the lights on while in sleepy position. Someone has a link to that writeup in their sig...

that wire probably leads to the fuse he was talking about

The guy's writeup seemed more simple than what s13rb25det was saying, even though I guess they say pretty much the same thing lol.

Or you can not hit the popup button and manually raise the lights yourself to the desired height, then switch them on like I do.89, 240sx ... it might be different for a 91, or maybe because something is wrong with whatever manages the retraction of my lights because they don't go down when I pop the light button back out.If anyone knows what causes this please give me a clue, because Ive been all over this system with a volt meter and service manual but come up with nothing.

I am still going to just go with my idea of puting a switch were the fuse use to be, that way I dont have to cut any wire or stupid stuff like that!

Wiow no one did a search? I had a writeup of this.Of how to just pull the fuse and have it work. And even though that fuse is pulled.Say a cop comes at you...you hit your highbeams and they will fully open.So you can make up your electrical problem story because they won't move until you put a new fuse in.
