Me and SmithSR will be here to keep ya'll in line.

Seems like there has been alot of bashing of newbies around here and I won't put up with it. You people were all new at one time so don't go get all high and mighty about it. If you don't want to answer the same old questions positively then don't post in that thread. It's simple.

It also seems some of you "gearhead" types like to bash others for being a little different and wanting something that not only performs decently but is to their liking. I'll be the first to say this is plain stupid. You have your own car, do with it as you please. They have theirs and they will/can do anything they want to it they please. Voice your opinions in a respectable manner. If you say you prefere a certain product over another, give a reason! Don't call them a moron and say this is so much better.

The rules that Freak laid down are simple. We expect members to treat each other with a certain level of respect.

Keep it clean, guys :bearchug

noob to nico, mod to AR, respected on MFBA, Thirdgen, 3si.

whenever you say "just search" that means that they process old info, sometimes theres new information that you can post and add, or clarify, that energy you spent bashing could have been spent helping them.

my .02 cents

Why does everyone take this soooo seriously? Isnt this a board to learn about nissan? Why cant we leave it at that... there should be a general board for this other ****...

But I do agree, newbie bashing is pointless. What takes more time: answering a simple question or writing a paragraph flame... hMmMMm?

I'm sick of people making fun of NICO and giving me greif because I'm a part of NICO. Our image isn't exactly the best in the business right now among the 240 guys. We need to make some changes to stay competitive.

I would agree... browse the 30 most recent threads on fresh alloy and you'd find that site is much more informative. Lets keep the SR section tech only please. Ask a question, answer a question.... no need to *****, flame, ect.

lets see how long this lasts. Great, we have a bunch of new blood in power around here. You guys wanna help new people, nothing wrong with that.

but you WILL get sick of answering the same questions over and over. (how much for a swap, what is the difference between motor X and motor Y) The kind of things that have been intellegently discussed and could be answered with a search, or by reading the stickies.

I for one would like to see the SR forum transition to a useful technical resource, a few wiring diagrams here, a writeup there.. but i dont see that happening as long as we are bogged down with these same old Import Tuner inspired questions.

Is it the forum's problem for not being super informative/technical? No matter how hard anyone tries this place will never be as good as an FSM or knowledgable mechanic. And it is the USERS fault for relying on the forum as so. That is my opinion.

I'll agree to that, but the mods have to promise to move/delete threads like "Where can i get altezzas" from the SR20DET section to keep the subject matter in posts remotely on the intended topic.

MV - Good call, welcome back to the fray.

BTW, "the law" never left, but I'm glad you're back so I can spend more time over in Infiniti-land. :D

Let me add this real quick:

When people quit asking questions, NICO ceases to exist. So if you guys (members and mods) have no desire to answer a question for the umpteenth time, then you're in the wrong place. Nothing wrong with directing someone to the search button, but I will NOT abide that being someone's FIRST impression of NICO. Welcome them, answer their question, and perhaps run a search for them (linking to the results). Then encourage them to use the search function - and welcome them again.

It's gonna be nice not to have to scoop the litterbox as frequently - Thanks to all of you guys for making NICO rock!

That's cute, now we have mods deleting posts because they don't like what others have to say...Mmmmk. Sensorship is lame.

People don't read them that's the thing. If they read them there wouldn't be half the idiotic questions in the first place. Putting more stickies/FAQ's won't work as long as people don't read them, it's that simple.

That's "Censorship".

And no one is deleting things because they don't like what someone says - Things get deleted because it detracts from what NICO is all about, or is a violation of the rules.

NICO was founded by someone who wanted to provide a forum for all Nis/Inf owners to get together and share info... As such, he can set whatever rules he chooses, and the Admins/Mods are here to ensure they are enforced. We're actually pretty liberal with what we'll allow, unlike some other sites out there which shall remain nameless.

Bottom line - Don't post anything out-of-line, and it's all good. :D

BTW, if no one has said so yet, Welcome to NICO!
