A Nissan Cima, a japanese home market car ( chassie type Y32 and Y33). The VH45 engine was used in the Nissan President for their home market.

Pretty much. Refer to the G50 VH45DE's FSM for most of it, just use the Y33 VH41DE FSM as a reference for chain & guide installation.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

Post

I buy most of mine through original or 2nd owners who have maintained the cars, and are selling for under 2K with NO oil sludge. 94-95 engines, scrap the shell, n recycle with the hotrods the rest. overall, looking at a grand in the motor and harness, n you know it is a good motor. changin the oil n using a scope, or a long, curved 'q tip' to scrap in the bottom of the pan gives you good info on its condition. Swap bearing, n guides, chains if needed, and you are in another 5,6,7 or so but you know you can run it. Nothing runs like this motor. A pure blast to drive.

Seems like this group has been around the block a few times with these. Can you point me in the direction of a good thread where someone drops the VH45 into the 300ZX. Preferably the Z31.
Thanks, Bob

Resurrect this Zombie thread or start another?
My question starts almost as the post above, 1994 VH45 to J30, not afraid of wires (day job is spinning wrenches) but as of now I have 2 complete mostly running cars and have yet to look deeper then google for this part.
A little about me, I road race a fully gutted and caged J30, weighs just under #3000lbs, dyno's around 200rwhp and wears 265-40-17 meat... lets say it holds its own ;)

Been a member here for a good bit mostly visiting the J30 and z32 threads starting as a terrible nissan noob, things have evolved... it is time... going Vh45

Aside from the nuts and bolts of the actual fitment/exhaust I have garnered the P/S pulley will be tight fit against the frame and sway bar, the stock mounts will work, its a little lighter and big smiles will happen when done.
What else do I need to know? How close it the harness to plug and play? Where should this post be moved to before I get yelled at? LOL
