I am currently driving a 314hp SR daily, and I've got a spare motor to rebuild, and 314 has started to feel slow, so my goal is 500hp.

I plan to do a rebuild with a set of 9:1 compression 86.5mm CP Pistons, either new stock rods, or Eagle rods, Enjuku racing head gasket, ARP studs, Comp Valve Springs, Crower Titanium retainers, HKS Step 2 264 cams, Greddy intake manifold, and that where I run out of ideas.

I'm running Tomei 740cc injectors right now, but I'm not sure if they can handle 500hp or not. I'm running the stock ECU but its been romtuned by Enthalpy, and any tuning I will need to have done will be done by him.

I'm running the Apexi N1 exhaust, Greddy O2 extension, and Greddy downpipe, but I plan to also do a dump pipe for track days.

I am unsure of the turbo I would need to meet my goals, I was hoping for something that could reach max boost by 5000rpm but the sooner the better, and keep the power on through 8000rpm. I've got a Hybrid Power intercooler and piping, but I'm sure I'll have to fabricate a larger diameter hot pipe with a different turbo setup.

Can anyone help me make an informed decision on this project or any advice I should hear?

a greddy t67 will make that much power,I think enjuku's drag car uses that turbo and that car has well over 500rwhp,And boost sould come before 5000rpm.

You have 740cc injectors with 314whp?

Enjuku has a t3t4 set up and ALOT of tuning to get the kind of spool and numbers they are putting out. I am building my motor with 9:1 JE pistons and am surprised to see someone else is doing it too. Most of the time people lower their compression so they can run UBER boost. I have already had 9:1 compression though and loved it. It makes a noticable difference before the turbo and is really torquey.

The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you need to tune the ecu to pull timing as the boost builds. You will get really high egts otherwise. I am not building a High Horsepower motor though, Im building a bottom end quick spooling motor. I have a supra for the highway. In all honesty I would think about keeping the 8.5:1 for high horsepower. I know the higher compression would add a little bottom end but to get to 500 you are going to have to have a lot of boost and I think the higher compression will make it more difficult. I have talked to Estoban at Enjuku and so should you. He is a very helpful source of info and has experience especially for high horsepower. He may say something different and you should listen to him.

I also think honestly if you want a lot of hp that 400-450 would be a better goal. You have more options when it comes to turbos. The 3071RWG is a nice turbo for 400+ and also the GT2540. The t3t4 is an option and the t67 although big and laggy will do it. I have an overlay of dynos of those turbos, from other people who have had them. The GT3540R is definately an option aswell. I dont have that one or enjukus new dyno but an old one of the t3t4. I will try to get it up. Dont know if it will help much but who knows.

The RED lines are enjuku's t3t4 but its an older dyno before they did alot of tuning.

The GREEN line is the t67 and notice how the hp just keeps going without flattening out. I dont have the torque for some reason.

The DARK BLUE lines are the 2540

The LIGHTEST BLUE lines are the 3071RWG from ATP's website.

The MEDIUM BLUE lines are ATP's dyno of a "varient" of the 3071. I dont know how the improved it so much from the previous dyno but I would like to know. When asked about it they said it was the one with the biggest trim and that would be the 3071RWG but it looks alot different if you ask me. Maybe they spooled it with NOS or something.

These dynos are not running full boost. They are just an example of what the power will look like as a base. The 3071s were probabbly running pretty high but it was still on a stock motor. Tuning can VASTLY improve any turbo aswell as adding cams and any other goodies you throw at it. Batlground made a whopping 366whp on a 2871R with 17psi of boost and some tuning. Their previous turbo made 450 and had an early spool for that kind of power. He swapped it out cause he didnt like the lag and is drifting the car now. I think you would be happy with 400-450 especially if you have an s13. Peak horsepower isnt everthing thing.

Good luck
