As some of you may know I need a A/T for my car ASAP...

I need to find one to rebuild for myself because I need the experience and would like to save money.

Everyone around me thinks a A/T with 200+ thousand miles is worth $300 because it will go one for another 300K miles.

So the 1997-2001 Q45 A/T uses the same transmission but a different bell housing, Right? The gearing is the same (As a 1994-1996 Q45 A/T) but is it better built? Or is the less powerful 4.1 engine less stressful on the transmission?

I want a A/T from a 1990-1992 Q45 because of the gearing but I do wonder if that small loss of power is worth an extra 100K miles or how ever long they last....

Does anyone have a A/T that I can have that has not blown up?

Did the transmission in your car die? I thought you were tinkering with a spare transmission? What happened?

Its still going but I know I don't have long.

I think its either a oil pump or Torque Converter that's on its way out.

On the 1997-2001 (FGY33) Q45 A/T the bell housing and Torque Converter (TQ) are different (The TQ has a different stall ratio). The FGY33 also has the same differential (R200V) but I am not sure if its the short or long nose. The thing that keeps me from getting a FGY33 trans is the difference in the drive shaft length.

So a 2000 Q45 (AE) came into the shop today and I looked under it. I saw the FGY33 A/T has a different pan (Better?). But it also has the short nose R200V diff...

I want a 1990-1992 Q45 A/T because of the gearing. But those are hard to find.

And Rabs read the topic you made about your parts car. :)
