Automatic transmission questions. Does a RE4R01A transmission bolt up to the KA24e? If not, can the bell housing from a RL4R01A be swapped onto a RE4R01A to have it work?
Yes I have searched this site and the web. Sorry if it's a dumb question.

After a bit more research, it seems a RE4R01a will bolt up to a KA24E block. From what I can see the torque converters are the same too. And no I have not attempted it yet.
The biggest issue that I am aware of (so far) is that of the starters.
The KA24DE block has a "mounting ring" cast into it for the starter and the KA24E block does not.
If you bolt a KA24DE block to a RL4R01a transmission, you use the KA24DE starter. Perhaps you keep the KA24E starter with a KA24E and RE4R01a?
