Poured in a gallon of oil and started it. Started right up but has a nasty rod knock and some tapping in valvetrain. I think the valve tap is from the HLA's but the rod knock is probably from a main. Had good oil pressure but the damage was done.

BTW, for those that don't know, my VH ran out of oil and did not spin a bearing due to abuse. Still didn't see any major oil leaks. Oh well, looks like I'll probably find a low mile VH and start again.

I'm sorry to hear that man.

Is a rebuild out of the question?

I've pulled a couple of motors apart and rebuilt them to fix the internal issue, all said and done I have yet to equal the cost of a new engine, with the cost of the rebuild parts I used. Just a suggestion...

Good luck whichever route you take, dont get too bummed out.
