Ok guys,
When I bought my 98 240 the guy handed me a box of stuff and told me to have fun with the a/c. Well its been 3 years almost without a/c and I can't take it anymore. I have everything hooked up and ready to put the R134a oil and freon in. I replaced all the o-rings with new ones and have a gauge for the the freon. My only issue is do I have to remove any type of vacuum in the lines? I've also read something about crossing 2 of the wires on the dryer cylinder that bolts to the condenser. Anymore info on this would help a ton. Thanks guys.

You definitely need to have the system vacuumed down to remove the air .You should not have to jump any wires for the AC to work.
