Re-install BOSE or Install all aftermarket.

I have an 02 Altima SL with the 8 speaker bose system in it. However after I bought the car, I found out the only thing left in it that is bose is the head unit and amp. It currently has 4 acoustik audio speakers in it and it doesn't sound just right. I am debating whether to get it re-wired for the bose speakers again, or whether to take out all of the bose and put all aftermarket in it. I have heard that you cannot mix and match a bose amp with aftermarket speakers, is this why it sounds so bad right now. Any help is appreciated, I want to find the best option with the best sound, for the best price.
