so i have a thread about my e to de swap if anyone is interested..

but i got one question. for those of you who did this and did this without taking out the dash..how exactly did you get your de harness thru the firewall and down where it should be?

i just looked up dash swap and ran out and took the flawless dash out of parts car and started looking around.. i decided that, seeing how its only a parts car, i would see if i couldnt make it easier to access that little area and help make the harness look stock (as in the plastic holders go where they should, etc..)

so i took 3-4 bolts off the white thing, 3-4 bolts off the black box thing next to it, 2 bolts off the actual dash bar on the far right, (the 2 bolts in the middle go to that black box thing) and i believe 2-4 where the bar comes down next to the mid console.

after doing this (which took alot of trial and error) i was able to slide the black box forward, which let me slide the white box up and forward giving me just an extra inch or 2, or maybe 3 i dunno.

but this was a hassle, and i like to keep bolts where they belong, and was wondering if anyone had any other ways they put their harness back into thier car..

this is for a s13..a 90 if it matters.

sorry one last thing..

the reason im asking is because i plan on doing the dash swap, and while im doing the swap if that is the easiest way ill install the harness then....but im not going to install the harness until the sohc is out....so therefore im not going to do the dash swap, or even have my dash out until i can do it at once..

like i said..i like doing things one area at a time so i can put the bolts, screws, and nuts where they belong.
