Ok, since it's extremely hard to find *affordable* rims in 15 or 16 inch sizes for 4 lugger S13's and S14's, my question is would it be smarter to just source a set of decent offset 4x100 rims (like the ones available to Miatas) and have a machine shop (or whomever) drill a 4x114 bolt pattern on them? This thought crossed my mind since Team Dynamics' sales rep in CA offered to drill a set of 4x100 pro race 1's for me.

Depending on the rim quality, it shouldn't compromise the integrity of the wheel, should it? I mean, some wheels look already set up for a dual bolt pattern set up anyway. Would it be economical? Because it would be cool to get a set of 4x100 15x7" FN01-R's and drill them for my car, and they'd clear my z-brakes and yadda yadda.

What do you guys think?

Definately a safety issue, would not suggest it at all.

Really? Hmm. Not good that TD's rep offered to do that for me. Hmm. I'm better off waiting for the actual bolt pattern to come from the UK instead. Alan, you guys should work a deal with Team Dynamics, they're Pro Race series rims come in a lot of 240 friendly offsets and some styles are big-brake friendly.

On a lot of rims, they have some castings on the hub mounting part of the wheel. That would practically eliminate the possibility of redrilling it safely. If you were considering redrilling a wheel, you should make sure that the hub mounting part is completely flat.
