Re catalytic converter warranty

I have a 08 Rogue and I was looking over the paper work on the gold preferred coverage plan that I bought. I cannot believe that the catalytic converter is not covered. I do not see it listed under emmisions or any place else on the list. this is a expensive part and should be part of a extended warranty. Am I overlooking something?

The EPA has mandated emission system warranties on all cars and trucks produced since 1995. Read more here:

The warranty covers major components for 8 years or 80,000 miles (8 years or 130,000 kilometres in Canada). Major components includes the catalytic converter, electronic emissions control unit or computer (ECU), onboard emissions diagnostic device or computer (OBD).

Refer to your warranty booklet:

'FEDERAL VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL LIMITED WARRANTIES' or'CALIFORNIA VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTIES'

This is likely why it's not mentioned in your extended warranty... it's already covered under the EPA mandated emissions system warranty.
