My newly ka-t'd sohc won't rev past 3000 rpm. Idles fine, a little jumpy while in gear, but I have to shift quickly before reaching 3000 rpm. It feels like it is bouncing off the rev limiter. I have searched, but found nothing helpful. I also disconnected the safc and I still have the same problem. Thanks in abvance.

What should I check for? How would I know if its working or not? Could it be the TPS? Thanks for your info.

usually if the MAFS is not working, the car wont rev past ~2500rpms due to the ecu going to limp mode.

True, you probably mistakenly pulled out a MAF wire while wokring on the car.

Ok, reconnected the white wire that goes from the ECU to the SAFC harness and now I can rev the motor. So it is probably my wiring to the air flow out. So I also checked the plugs to see if they are fouled, and while installing the new ones, I cannot seat the second spark plug all the way down. I back out the sparkplug and it is not stripped and there are no shavings. I tighten the plug as much as I can and it still sits about a 1/8 of an inch up. Now the car idles like its running on 3 cylinders. Can I retap the spark plug hole with a 14 mm 1.25 tap, helicoil the hole, or worse get a new head. Any info. from the gurus would help. Thanks in advance
