Well, my question is, "would a AC system off a s13 work on my non AC s13?" How much am i looking to spend. The heat out here is crazy and i need to stay cool on my dd. I'll install what i can and get the rest professionally done. Any recommendations or advice will be helpful. Oh, and i did use the "search button" but didn't get nor found a solid answer, lol. Thanks guys.

Well, yes it will work if you install the entire A/C system.

Does your current HVAC controls include a non functional a/c button or is just absent? On the fire wall are there two random holes with a cover on it or do you think you have to drill it out.

But to get A/C to work you need the high and low pressure lines, the A/C condenser. A/C Compressor. and Guessing pretty much everything attached to the heater under the dash. If not the controls themselves.

I can only reference S13's with A/C and previous experience with datsun pickups non a/c and a/c equipped and whats involved with that. Posting pictures would help me.

Well, the A/C button on the hvca unit is blank, since its a non A/C model. If it was an A/C model it should have been labeled A/C. As for the holes on the firewall, yes, there are two holes that are covered with rubber plugs. Are those the wholes you're talking about? Don't have any pics now, but i'll post pics later. Do i have to swap my non A/C hvca unit for a A/C hvca unit?
Let me know, thanks in advanced.

If there is no button, sound like you will. the box for the a/c under the dash with have pipes that run up through that fire wall, the pipes in the bay screw on to those. make sure all the a/c piping in good and not cracked anywhere.

Ok, i see. i will check everything out tomorrow and will refer to the fsm for help and diagrams. Do you have any idea how much will the A/C system cost me at a junkyard?

Get all the lines from a junkyard. Also, the blower, HVAC unit, compressor bracket, condenser, and vent plumbing if it's not already in the car.

IMPORTANT - Get a brand new compressor from the autoparts store. Do NOT get a used one, you will regret it. Also, get a new dryer as the compressor warranty will be voided if you don't.

Buy a new o-ring kit from Nissan and also decide if you want to convert to R134a.

Expect to spend $500 - $1000 to get it working RIGHT, even doing a lot by yourself. The system will need to be completely air tight which is very hard to do, especially with used parts as some of the lines may be warped and especially the blocks that attach to the compressor.

I don't know where you live, but if you're in AZ I have a brand new condensor, and if you're car is a sohc, a compressor bracket.

Am i missing something else? let me know guys. So far, the only thing thats worries me is doing the wiring. Thank ya'll, for all the help.

Make sure you have the bracket and clutch to go along with the compressor.

Looks like this. Make sure you have the hardware as well. If you want I can send you the bolts as I'm throwing all that in the trash soon.

lol, its all cool Thereal. Well, actually i'm trying to source an A/C car, i even have up for sale my s13. But if i don't sell it soon i will just install the A/C system on it, since its my dd car. I mean its so freaking hot out here. So i guess, is which ever comes first. Sell or A/C installement.

I live in Miami and I'm on the same boat...non AC s13. It's only a matter of time before I die of a heat stroke.

I bought the car thinking "I'll install AC later", but ended up buying coilovers/suspension components instead. My solution is this:

I have everything except the heater core. As soon as I'm done with classes I'm going to a JY and picking it up.
