Does anyone know if the manifold from a RB25DET will fit on a RD25DE or do they make a RD25DET. Wouldnt it be cool to have a turbo diesel with propane injection.

OK, the RD25DE is Nissan's diesel six with from what I understand the same basic block and head design as the RB25DET. Diesels live forever, are cheaper to run, get better gas millage, and have torque for days. Propane is to diesel as nitrous is to gas. What wouldn't be cool about a RD25DET with propane injection?

I have seen a full size extended cab Ford 4X4 Turbo Diesel Truck with Propane injection run a 10second quarter. I say go for it :)

No way. I don't believe it. Diesels run huge compression ratios and thus require huge, thick, heavy blocks. A 2 liter gasoline engine may weigh 400 lbs with an iron block, but a 2 liter diesel could easily be 600 lbs or more.

As heavy as the RB25DET may seem, I highly doubt that Nissan could use the same block for a diesel engine without having it blow to pieces.

As for the head... come on! Same head???? And I suppose diesels have spark ignition with coil packs and with the diesel injection into the intake manifold?

Ok, so I'm skeptical.

THEY DO HAVE A RD25DE.... ITS OF A DIFFERENT BLOCK AND HEAD DESIGN. I'M NOT SURE IF THE HEAD PORTS ARE THE SAME FLANGES THOUGH. YOU COULD BUILD A TURBO DIESEL WITH SOME MONEY AND INGENUITY AND I WOULD DO IT IF I HAD THE PATIENCE TO BUILD A PROPER TURBO DIESEL..... BUT I DON'T! I RECOMMEND GETTING A PICTURE OF THE EXHAUST OUTLETS ON THE HEAD AND EAMILING IT TO ME OR POSTING IT AND I COULD TELL YOU IF A RB20/25DET MANIFOLD WILL WORK.

YOU COULD PROBABLY BOOST 16+ PSI ON THAT DIESEL WITH A PROPANE INJECTION AND GET SOME MASSIVE TORQUE NUMBERS.

BTW: PROPANE IS JUST AS MUCH OF A POWER ADDER AS N02 IN A UNLEADED VEHICLE, IT JUST DOESN'T COOL AS EFFICIENT.

Not to be to off topic... but what do you do for work ProjectRB? You are always typing in caps ---> you are always at work ---> you must have a laid back job.

He does data entry. What I want to know is how the hell he can afford all of these projects? I am a very good living and can only afford the one project (barely). I guess it is because I am married. I could afford more, but she will only let me spend so much. :)

If it was up to me, I would be living in a 2002 R34 GTR, or maybe a nice 911 Turbo. You don't need a house if you have boost, right?

hell i make 26.40 a hour and i am bringing home over a grand a week and i don't even have a project car, just baying off doctor bills.

but it would be different to see a diesel motor in a 240sx making tons of torque with that loud sounding diesel. i love the turbo diesel trucks, sweet sounding turbos

For the record, you can use Propane on your gasoline motor. No need to have a diesel for propane useage. That has been done for quite awhile now. Oh, and I'm closing this WAY off topic thread...lol.
