So i was searching on the net and found this australian site on building your own rb30det hybrid. From what i saw, it seems a much cheaper, and powerful solution than a rb26dett. I'd like to know your input on this and would appreciate links to any site that offers rb25de (n/a of course) or links to getting the aussie's rb30 head gaskets.

bore size is the same as a 25, 26. the head gasket for those should work. I beleive there are slight differences in the water passages and you have to modify the timing belt pulley position in the block.

Hard to get a RB30 in the states...But I agree, the RB30 would be my choice.

I haven't even heard of an RB30. And those s13's look way too cramped. Still would be cool.

Or how about the 3L bottom end with the rb26 head try-9 runs it daily and turns mid 9's in the quarter. I've had the pleasure of being abused by this monster....ah the pure joy of it all.:D

RB30 engines only came in Single Cam configuration. They were in the Skyline & the Holden Commodore, which also had a Turbo Version, which had a stronger block, crank etc & this is the best one to get for mods.

You can now buy kits to change them to Twin Cam, & the RB25 head fits the easiest. Everything lines up, but you need different manifolds.
