all info i have found is like 3 to 5 years old, and am trying to do this. I had an rb25det in a 1995 240sx until the #2 piston and rod grenaded...so i have some of the things to do it...

i can get the block, but do i need to rebuild it/should I?what mounts should be used?what needs to be done to make the rb25det ecr33 head work. from what i understand is the r32 rb25det head is best?what wiring is involved, again i have a working rb25det conversion harness already.what exhaust mani should be used? rb25 26 20?

Thanks!

If you think about it logically, really the most drastic change you are making is the physical height of the engine. You may need to tap out oil feeds and for the RB25det head a VCT line.. All sensors etc are generally not attached the block, with the exception of the knock sensors. Everything else is on/around the head.

Also, as for the information going out of date.. You do know we are dealing with a 20+ year old engine design here, right? Info that is 3 or 5 years old is the least of your worries. Finding a good machine shop and pooling large sums of money is your primary concern here.

yes i know the motor is old...but i was just curious as to why it is old...why nobody is doing it...

what EMS is best...I was just thinking AEM...?so the oil feed for the turbo line on an rb30et come from the head?is there a specific spot to tap for the VCT line on the rb30 block, or "just a good spot"? I have everything for the rb30det minus rb30 block...i need specifics to do it, like i said where to drill oil lines on what and where. is what wikepedia saying true about the harmonic balancing issues? Is it partially balanced like the KA?which block is better the rb30et or the rb30e?

the os giken thing is sweet but not what im looking for, i want an rb used for road racing and drifting, need that torque. but, is the vct mandatory?say i jus get cams and adj. cam gears, and just run the car on ems, then the galley is not needed correct?

as for the r33 rb25det head on the rb30, you need to close the vct oil port and port-match the water jacket in that area. then tap the front intake-side of the head for the oil source to the vct.
