For anyone interested in seeing the story from start to end of how Rob from RIPS Racing built himself a world record racing machine based on the RB30 engine,...Holy god!! http://skyline-life.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... board.html

Link here: http://skyline-life.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... board.html

Personally, I think the craftsmanship is unbelievable, the exhaust on this machine is out this world!! how I envy the people who have managed to acquire cars built by this man.

What's that little turbo-looking thing under the giant snail with two small pipes coming out of it?

I think you're talking about one of the wastegates. The blue and silver thing, right?

Looking at this pic, there are two wategate dump tubes. I'm guessing it's running two wastegates for a true twin scroll setup.

I think my next project for the Vert is gonna be to drop in an RB30 with my current ITB setup. I can use my same manifolds, sensors, wiring/ecu, etc...

That is if I don't sell/trade it for something new first....

RIPS does some pretty incredible things with the RB motor, I've been working with rob on this lately and he's got a few more very cool stories to tell,
