There are a couple of pistons we use.. One set will give ~8.3:1 without any work.. quick shave of the head and you're near where you want to be, the other set will give ~9:1. These are same forging, but with a Rb2X style lump on top.Trim lump down to whatever size you want, and you have your desired comp ratio.

Wisecos listing state that those pistons are 7:1.. why would anyone recommend them???

25/26 etc pistons are less than desiriable.. you end up with a stupid amount of quench which totally defeats the purpose of having it to begin with. 40-50 thou piston to head quench is perfect (don't forget head gasket)

Hey, not sure if you figured out your problem, but I am building 2 RB30 (3.1L) engines with a friend. We are using a Pro shop in Chicago to source, machine and install.

Shoot me a line at [email protected]. We'll see if our pistons are the same as what you need, so we can get a couple of more sets. Cheaper for all.

Thanks for the reply. I just sent you an email. The source I got the pistons from has been in contact with the original sales person. Looks like Wiseco may be able to work something out. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed for now.

It has taken some time but....

Wiseco came through! These pistons give me some area to work with now.

Glad to see you're back on track StealthZ. Sucks when you have to wait so long for parts to arrive when you could be reassembling the thing. Make sure you get some good clear "money shots" while you're building it. You too BoostsFed! Nothing looks better than a freshly machined block with new internals in it.
