Well after 4 months and much blood and sweat, my son and I finally got our swap running yesterday. We still have a lot of finish work as well as our full cage to weld in, but we did get to take it for a blast around our parking lot, This video does not show the good stuff, But after we took a few warm up laps, and got the boost up. Oh jesus what a ride. there are lots of pics on our photo page at this picasa location and a utube video at this

that is fawking sick! what were the most difficult parts? 4 months seems VERY reasonable for this swap, especially since no one does the full awd conversion. awesome job.

do u have a log or guide to possibly help others wanting to do this? i might want to do this in the future... then id be able to drive the 240 year round

glad you guys were able to make it through the whole proceess, seen some threads where you had to put up with the negitive vibe from others.

Front suspension looks intersting. Pics of the under carage would be cool.

Thank you ,I have not gotten the attessa working and won't even attempt to. I am working on controlling the awd system with a small 12volt hydraulic pump and pressure switch to dial the amount of torgue split I want to go to the front wheels. I will post the reusults on this in the next month or so. I have a busy tradeshow season starting next week. so will be spotty with progress as I move through that.

i wonder how the car will sit with coilovers, i rember reading on this forum and seeing on ebay a s13 "4wd" converted rb26 that looked like it wa s lifted 4 inches.i know that full race notched into the front frame rail for the 1/2 shafts and their car sits amazing.

HOW AWESOME IS IT TO SEE "JOE THE PLUMBER" (not a team of engineers in a 5million dollar shop) COMPLETE THIS LEGENDARY SWAP

I have been looking into doing this swap to my spare s14 shell but need to complete my s14sr20 first.... please post more info about the awd system you will be using

some inspiration for when i start

oh yeah, well I want to put some lowering coilovers on it. but for now I have poured all my cash into making it a driveable car. The goodies come next. First i got a cage for xmas from my wife so that will be first. then a Corbeau harness from my son. I hope to put a small computer in the dash to keep track of all data, but that will be later in the spring. The dash and interior really is our next challenge. In the photo pages is a quick series of how I converted the 240 gauge cluster over to the RB cluster and it all works. jeesus making that wiring into a working setup was a challenge. Well thanks again

Hi, well thank you. yes most of the questions I asked earlier were answered with pretty sad *** responses. However I have been called a junk yard dog a few times. Persistence is the key. you know I have found out that the majority of the responses and things for sale concerning my swap have been bogus information. Pretty discouraging to a newcomer. Fortunately the things I bought were not heartbreakers. Though the swap I bought was nearly enough to make me swear off the whole thing. The water pump and alternator mount had been broken off the front of the block and JB welded back on. I do not know if this has happened to anyone else but was nearly enough to make me ****can the whole project. I fortunately work with a welding shop that is a specialist in cast iron and they saved the day and welded the block, putting the back of the water pump and alternator lower mount back on the block. Thanks again

HI, yes and no. I got it from the guy advertising it on ebay. I think it had passed through a couple of hands before I got it. Someone had begun the swap and either found that the block was broken, up on the front corner and then JB welded it together and dumped it. Or this guy had figured it out and dumped it. He advertised it as able to hear it run. Which to his credit he jury rigged the wiring and yes it did start. However it did not have a radiator in it. so no coolant. To flow out of the gaping holes in and around the water pump. Even advertised it with a NEW water pump installed. Stupid me. And I used to own a junk yard. I should have picked up on the tips. but all that is behind us. Just a warning to anyone buying an RB swap, make sure that if it has been pulled from a wreck. The front right corner of the block is very susceptible to damage. And it is very expensive and risky to fix.
