Hey, I was checking out EBAY and look what I found.

Guy says he has it all figured out.. just needs wiring, pipes/hoses, driveshaft, and pedals.

What do you think....?

My personal opinion.. and I hope I don't offend the guy, or anyone else... I think he decided to give it a try... found out that he can't do it, and is going to sell it "unfinished" so that the buyer can stumble into finding out it doesn't work. Just a thought.

Then again.... maybe he got it and we can all learn something from him?

Anyhow.. just thought everyone would get a kick out of this.

later

That's member user "popag99" on 240sxforums.com

Not sure if he's on here I don't remember.

Here's more pics:

I think it was just to hard to finish on his budget.. or something of that nature.

The mechanical mounting of the parts is he simple part....the electrical part of the AWD system is gonna be a monster. It will require ALOT of custom work and a couple parts I dont know if he has or not...Still...with the RB26 it might be a decent deal.

whoever buys it is gonna need the G sensors, the attesa computer [if its not included], the harness ends, the pump/valves for the awd clutch pack.

that seems like more of a PITA than its worth.

what front hubs did he use to be able to bolt up halfshafts?

I WOULD CONVERT IT TO FULL-TIME AWD WITH A MECHANICAL SETUP INSTEAD OF COMPUTER CONTROLLED.

with a manual AWD system, you will get the AWD launch, but loose top end because of the parasitic drag of the front halfshafts, diff and driveshaft.

i would rather leave it RWD, unless you want a rally car/snow monster.

WHY ELSE WOULD YOU BOTHER WITH A AWD SYSTEM?

AND THE PARASITIC LOSSES ARE NOT THAT GREAT. LOOK AT THE SUBARU SYSTEMS AND THE OLDER MITSUBISHI SYSTEMS.

thats true.

it seems like a huge PITA to line the motor up decently enough to get the halfshafts to work. i figured the motor would have to be too far forward.

He did not think about the hump in the cross memeber, that is why the front sticks up like that. Very ****y job and car he did, so for kicks, I asked him for the reserve. He said $10,500 ! Give me a brake and good luck ! If not, then my car must be worth an *** load.

It's called drivetrain loss, and if it were a finished car I'll bet the weight of the whole car would more than make up for it.

I just got parts from this guy i know who was the buyer of this car, when i get home i search nico and this was the first topic i read. what a coincidence!

when i get there i see the 240sx that is probley where my pass rearquarter window is comming from, then i notice that it has the wheel on the right. the guy selling this on ebay had the dash all apart, he couldnt get it to fit i guess. when he got it he said the engine was in it and the transmission was hitting the ground. now he has put it in another 89\90 fastback. it has a fabed trans cross member and he had to cut a piece of the pass. side floorboard out. he said he put a comb of skyline and s13 parts on the front sus.etc. i saw it tonight when getting parts, it lacks ic\piping , driveshaft, and wiring.

i hope to get a chance to see it in action!

i would like to see it with dual exhaustit's too bad hedidn't have the gtr lights/doghouse

dual exhaust is stupid. This whole project is stupid. It won't be so stupid once someone completes it. That's all I have to say to it.

STUPID.

the r32 atessa system is not electronic, only the 33 and 34 is. the 32 is mech hydrolic system...you need the hydro pumps located in the trunk....and if i am correct it runs off of the hicas pump.....
